At the end of Advent, when Christmas is just around the corner, the traditional Galtür Christmas in the Tyrolean Mountains gets going. This year, once again, there is a full program planned for the 18th – 23rd of December.
On the 19th of December there will be a Viennese choir-boy concert in Galtür. This boys’ choir, founded in 1498, is made up of four different groups and is amongst the most well-known and most highly recommended of choirs, worldwide. They give around 300 concerts every year, all over the world. Just before Christmas, dressed in their sailors’ uniforms, they pay a visit to Galtür. On December 21st there is a traditional moonlit walk to the woodland chapel. This walk through the quiet, peaceful, festive surroundings of Galtür is a magical experience. On the 23rd of December the primary school is set to perform a nativity play in the main church in Galtür, which has been a favourite part of the Christmas celebrations in Galtür for years.
