Climbing and Bouldering
Climbing in Tyrol
Bouldering fans and climbers, as well as families, will be able to make the most of their summer in Galtuer. The two new climbing routes as well as the enormous bouldering area in Silvapark will make sure of that!
The potential of the bouldering area in Silvapark was first truly discovered and tapped in 2003. Bernd Zangerl, one of the best boulderers in the world, introduced the area with around 160 bouldering problems in 8 sectors. From easy to extremely challenging problems, it's all available here. Here you will find bouldering at grade 8c - even the most experienced are bound to break a sweat. In certain areas climbers have not been successful using Bernd Zangerl's original routes (set on his first climbs there) since 2003. For less experienced boulderers there are also appropriate short routes available. As far as equipment is concerned, you will need climbing shoes and bouldering mats - both of which can be rented in Galtuer (Interactive Panorama).
The two fixed rope climbing routes (via ferrata) on the Greitspitze and the Flimspitze offer picturesque views and climbing enjoyment for both unexperienced climbers and for children. Using the cable car and walking just a short distance you can reach the starting points leading up to just below the peaks very quickly. The way back is well developed and won't pose any problems, even for children.
If the weather doesn't cooperate, you don't have to take a pass on climbing or bouldering in Tyrol. The boulder wall at the Alpinarium in Galtuer offers a fitting alternative.
