Choose between several possible routes and get to know Paznaun with its four villages of Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See, bit by bit. This route is ideal both for E-bike beginners and enthusiasts, since the rider can set the length as desired. 

Section I:

Start: See
Destination: Kappl
Length: 8 km
Altitude differential: 200 m 

The village of “See” is the first one in Paznaun and is a true paradise for athletes both large and small. The newly revamped swimming lake promises relaxation, but if you want it more noisy, then experience the new hiking path through the “acoustic ravine.” There is plenty to see wherever you turn. 

On the sunny slope at lower Paznaun you can see the little parts of the village of Kappl spread out before you. In Kappl you can enjoy the originality of Paznaun at its most authentic. Whether in one of the numerous meadows & lodges, in the Sunny Mountain Adventure Park, or while enjoying one of the regional specialties. 

Section II:

Length: 10 km
Altitude differential: 120 m

This renowned winter sports region intoxifies visitors even in summer with exceptional vacation experiences and events of all kinds. Anyone on the look-out for thrills can head on over to the breath-taking hanging bridges on the new adventure hiking path from Ischgl to Idalp, or can try his skill on the high rope course.

It’s the same in Paznaun as in most of the mountain valleys in the Tyrol: It’s most loveliest right at the back. At an altitude of 1,600 meters, Silvretta shows its loveliest side. The Alpine curative spa at Galtür not only has an impressive mountain crevass, but also with its Alpinarium offers a cultural highlight which you definitely should not miss.

Destination: Lorein Alm

The Lorein valley is located in a quite peaceful area to the east of Galtür between Fimba valley and the Jam valley. The only house in this idyllic scene is the inviting Lorein Alm Inn (1,860 m) which is staffed in summer. On the route down the Paznaun valley you roll into the valley entrance, then into the forest along the Larein brook and then leisurely on gravel uphill to the Alpine meadow.

Destination: Jamtal lodge
Length: 9.6 km
Altitude differential: 600 m

The Jamtal is famous with mountain-climbers and offers the ideal combination of relatively easy-going gravel road entrance, breath-taking panoramas of the gigantic Jamtal glacier with the Jamtal lodge located at 2,165 meters. Here you can sample specialties from the Paznaun recreation area.

Destination: Mountain Inn Piz Buin / Bieler heights
Length: 11.5 km
Altitude differential: 460 m

Heading out from the Dorfplatz in Galtür this route leads across the valley floor past the neighborhood of Wirl to just before the new toll booth. There you cross the bridge and follow the gravel path out to Bieler heights/Silvretta reservoir at 2,032 m. A special treat – for adults and children as well – is a motorboat ride around the lake in the middle of the magnificent mountain world at Silvretta – the only motorboat transportation in Europe at over 2,000 m altitude. In addition, on this tour you can follow up with a trip around the Silvretta reservoir. Start and destination both at the Piz Buin Mountain Lodge / Bieler heights.

The agriculturally charming Fimba valley is the largest side valley in the Paznaun and is prized equally by bikers and hikers. With a little luck, along the way you may encounter marmots and other domestic animals. Starting from the middle station, the climb is flatter and the riding is pleasant up to the first inn at the Fimba valley, the Bodenalpe at 1,848 m. Enjoy the panorama and the unspoiled nature accompanied by Paznaun specialities.

Destination: Heiderberger lodge

The Heidelberger lodge (2,265 m) is absolutely the biker’s destination in Ischgl – hundreds of Trans-Alpine bikers wheel up here from Ischgl every day in summer and then move on across the Fimber Pass to Engadin. The asphalted route is always in fine condition up to the Bodenalpe (battery change station) – the first refreshment station – and then on gravel to the Heidelberger lodge (which is itself on Swiss territory) – always with the fantastic view of the powerful Fluchthorn in sight.

The tour to the Wilderer lodge in Mathon is a small circular route for beginners and intermediates. It is also quite suitable for E-bike novices and for families with children. The asphalted bicycle paths and gravel routes move gently uphill, then down on the other side of the valley along the Mathias Schmid Art Appreciation Path where the painter’s works of Tyrolean peasant life are on display.

Destination: Sunny Mountain Restaurant & Adventure Part
Length: 7 km
Altitude differential: 570 m

From Kappl this tour first heads through the various hamlets of Kappl and then out through the forested area and past the Ruhestein chapel to the Sunny Mountain Adventure Park at 1,830 m. Here you will find everything your heart desires – for both young and old alike. A large lake which reflects the mountain panorama, with an adventure park and Kneipp pond to cool off your feet, Flaxi-village and much more. In the Sunny Mountain Restaurant you can change not only your own batteries, but can also recharge those on the E-bikes.

Destination: Restaurant Medrigalm
Length: 6.4 km

This pleasure tour runs along the valley exit with vista points along the route past the Jäger chapel and mountain meadows up to the Medrigalm Restaurant (1,800 m), where you can enjoy not only the marvelous panoramic view up to the Lechtal Alps, but also true Paznaun treats. The view of the “Riffler,” one of the more beautiful mountains in Paznaun, is also quite worth your while.

Destination: Ascherhütte
Length: 4.5 km
Altitude differential: 520 m

This tour is simply too beautiful to leave it off your agenda. High above the outlet from the Paznaun you’ll find the Ascherhütte at 2,248 m with its pleasant sunny terrace. An outstanding route with panoramic vistas and delicacies from the Paznaun gastronomic region, before you continue on down gravel through secluded forests to the valley floor and then on to See.
