Proper Equipment
The proper equipment for your hiking tours in Tyrol
What will you have to pack into your back pack or bring along in terms of equipment for your mountain hikes? Here you will find information on the basic equipment you will need and on special equipment required for difficult tours.
Basic equipment for easier hiking tours:
- Small back pack for hiking (approx. 25 l. max.)
- Hiking shoes
- Weather resistant jacket, if possible made from breathable material
- Wetness protection trousers
- Sun shades
- Sun tan lotion with a high level of SPF
- Sweater or fleece jacket
- Telescope sticks
- Cell phone or two-way radio
- Small first aid pack
- Maps
- Beverages
- Healthy snacks
- Camera
Additional supplies for multi day tours:
- Sleeping bag (cabin sleeping bag)
- Changes of clothing
Additional equipment for more difficult tours (not for high alpine mountaineering)
- Larger hiking back pack
- Large first aid pouch
- Multi function jacket
- Fleece jacket
- Multi function pants
- Cap & gloves
- Compass, elevation measuring device
- Cold cream
- If applicable, glacier goggles
This list may not be complete. If you would like to rely on what has proven to work for you, go ahead. Many hikers insist on wearing the socks from the day before on multi day hikes. Well, if that means you won’t get any blisters – why not?
