Summer holidays in Tyrol
Come visit the Kops Reservoir
At almost 1,800m above sea level, this reservoir is an attraction for many guests visiting Galtuer in the summer. Fishing, hiking, relaxing - many leisure activities are offered by these waters surrounded by magnificent mountains.
The Kops Reservoir was constructed between 1962 and 1969. The unique thing about this reservoir is apparent at first sight, because the lake is confined by a double bend dam. It is a true masterpiece of structural engineering to be marveled at! Of course you can go on a walk along the dam to reach the lake on your excursion. The beauty of the natural surroundings around the reservoir are worth exploring. You'll be able to find a few secluded little places to have a picnic.
Fishing
Many guests who spend their summer holidays in Tyrol wish to go fishing, and you can certainly fish here, as well as at the Silvretta and Vermunt Reservoirs. You can spend a few hours enjoying the impressive mountain scenery while waiting for the fish to bite.
You can reach the Kops Reservoir easily starting out from Galtuer by car or hike along the terrific hiking trails in the direction of See. One you've arrived at the top, you can eat a meal at the guesthouse on the shore. If you'd like to spend a night at the lake, there's a campsite located directly on the shore.
