Every year runners from all over the world meet here to take part in the marathon in Galtuer, one of the most challenging mountain runs in Europe. Once again this year the athletes will be pushed to their limits.

Running in the mountains
The imposing mountain scenery of the Ferwall and Silvretta, the alpine plant and wildlife and the fun group dynamic of this event make the marathon in Galtuer one of the highlights of the summer every year.
Many runners take on the challenge of a classic marathon which is a distance of 42.3 kilometres, but in Galtuer you'll be gaining an altitude of almost 1,700 metres at the same time! An unbelievably tough endeavor, which is however well rewarded with the beautiful views over the Alps. The marathon in Galtuer is something truly special.
Alternatively you can choose to take on the Half Marathon in Galtuer, which is 21,1 kilometres, or if you want to take it easy you can particpate in the Silvretta-Ferwall Hike. Hikers have a choice between three different courses: the "Königin-Strecke" route - 42.3km, the "Ferwall-Strecke" route - 28km and the the "Silvretta-Familienstrecke" or family route - 13.5km. One of these hikes in Galtuer is sure to be right for you.
There will be a festival a few days in advance of the marathon in Galtuer, so that guests from around the world can celebrate this event.
