With a low-pressure system over Western Europe, which will extend far southward over Spain, increasingly warm summer air from North Africa will reach us again in the coming days with a foehn-like southerly flow. During the weekend, the south foehn will be stronger in the mountains, even becoming stormy and gusty in the classic foehn corridors. Additionally, there will be a slightly changeable weather pattern, although sunshine will not be lacking north of the Alpine main ridge. Only on Sunday the high cloud fields will become somewhat denser, occasionally shading the sun. Along the Alpine main ridge itself, more compact clouds will accumulate against the mountains, but significant precipitation is not expected. On Monday and Tuesday of next week, the south foehn will temporarily weaken somewhat. The weather will generally become calmer and sunnier, allowing the air to continue heating up. The freezing level will rise above 3000 meters above sea level. From Wednesday onwards, the southerly flow will increasingly come under the influence of low pressure for the rest of next week, making the weather much more changeable and consequently more unsettled.
