St. James' Way of Paznaun
THE ST. JAMES' WAY OF PAZNAUN
New in summer 2009: Tyrolean Paznaun brings star-awarded cuisine to the high mountain region. Under the patronage of Eckart Witzigmann, four international celebrity chefs will be ensuring gourmet pleasure in the region with regional dishes and products in various huts of the Alpine club.
Paznaun in the Tyrol will be presenting a combination of delights that is unique up to now in summer 2009. Sustainable tourism, international star-awarded cuisine, regional products and a traditional mountain experience are combined here. Under the slogan "Culinary St James' Way", four international celebrity chefs, under the patronage of Eckart Witzigman, will be creating a menu of regional dishes and products, each for one Alpine club's hut in Paznaun. The starting signal for the summer of pleasure will be sounded at the opening event on Sunday, 5th July 2009. Local matador Martin Sieberer (Paznauner Stube, Ischgl), South Tyrol's star chef Norbert Niederkofler (Rosa Alpina, San Cassiano), Martin Fauster (Königshof, Munich) and Martin Dalsass of Switzerland (Ristorante Santabbondio, Sorengo) will present their dishes in "their" huts after a hike up together. The Jamtalhütte near Galtür, the Heidelberger Hütte near Ischgl, the Niederelbehütte near Kappl and the Ascherhütte near See are the culinary stages. The chefs will be waiting in the kitchen to spoil you with new interpretations of regional specialities. Guests can find out information about the backgrounds of the dishes and products from the celebrity chefs themselves. The creations will then be on offer in the huts throughout the entire Alpine summer. Culinary hikes with a stamp book, recipes to take along from the stars of the kitchen and regional product tasting sessions provide a St. James' Way in Paznaun. The culinary St. James' Way will be supplemented by a programme of events. As an opening event package, three overnight stays from 2nd to 5th July 2009, including two exclusive guided themed tours, participation in the opening event on 5th July and further extra services are available from 175 euros per person.
