There is a solid trail that takes you around the lake in about two hours. You can also take the boat half-way and hike back the other half. With a fishing licence – available at toll gates, for example – you can also fish in the lake. A cross-country ski trail leads across the lake in winter, provided the ice is thick enough.
The Vermunt reservoir is not far from the Silvretta reservoir. During a stopover there you can get to a tower in the lake via the dam. The Luenersee is already located in the neighbouring Vorarlberg region, where the “Douglashütte” is especially popular with hikers as Alpine inn and a place to stay the night.
