With its wide, snow-sure trails and breathtaking views of the three-thousand-metre summits of the Silvretta mountains, Galtür is the cross-country skiing hotspot of Tyrol. Expect a comfortable infrastructure, varied tours ranging from 1,377 to 2,036 metres, cross-country skiing lessons for all skill levels and stellar service!

73 kilometres of cross-country trails throughout the Paznaun and up until Vorarlberg are the perfect playground for beginners as well as advanced and ambitious cross-country skiers. In addition to the classic track, there’s also plenty of space for skating!

Cross-country tip: Don’t miss the high-altitude trail leading to the Silvretta reservoir at 2,040 metres above sea level! Suitable for classic cross-country skiing as well as skating, this tour rewards you with impressive views of the mighty Silvretta mountains!

    With the Alpkogelbahn cable car you can reach the mountain base easily – then you arrive at the Silvapark cross-country skiing track after only 5 minutes walk. The track has approximately 1,0 km in length and is perfectly suited for training runs.

Cross-country skiing lessons in Galtür – practice makes perfect

Cross-country skiing isn’t as easy as it might look. Even experienced skiers often have problems keeping their balance and staying on the trail. So why not seize the chance and book some cross-country skiing lessons?

You would like to learn how to cross-country ski or improve your technique? Take up group or private lessons or join a taster course for the popular Nordic sport – the ski schools of Galtür offer lessons for all tastes and skill levels!

Everything you need to know about cross-country skiing in Galtür:

  • Cross-country trail access in Galtür: The main entry point to Galtür’s cross-country trails is located about 50 metres from the Tourist Office where you can also find out about open runs.
  • Lockers: Galtür’s Sports and Culture Centre is only about 400 metres from the cross-country trails, with the possibility of storing your valuables in the lockers of the local swimming pool.
  • Public transport: If you don’t want to drive or walk back to your hotel after a long cross-country tour, it’s a good idea to use public transport. Guests of the Paznaun region get to use the local buses  for free!
  • Rental and service: You left your cross-country skis at home or don’t have your own equipment? You would like to beef up your skis? The many sports shops of Galtür are happy to help you and are looking forward to your visit!
