No less than two event magnets attract participants and audience here from all around: in July, the breathtaking Silvretta Run 3000, in August the traditional Silvretta-Ferwall Hike
Silvrettarun 3000 – Trailrunning all the way up to the peaks
No matter if marathon or hobby runners – those who want to test their limits in the mountains will be hard-pressed to get past the Silvretta Run 3000. Every year, the mountain run from Ischgl to Galtür spurs hundreds of runners to athletic top performances. With a route selection of three different distances, everyone will find their optimal route to burn off all their energy. The Silvretta Run 3000 takes it's name from the highest point of the Trailrunning-route: the Kronenjoch ridge at just under 3,000 metres. For children and youth, there's a dedicated run, the free Silvretta Kids Run – without timekeeping, as here the joy of running counts for more than pure competition.
People's march for everyone
Every year, hikers from all across the world meet up for the Silvretta-Ferwall-march in Galtür. The people's hike, first held in 1974, has by now become a permanent fixture on the calendar for hundreds of mountain joggers. Suited for all generations, the international people's march offers a choice between three routes of varying distance. From the pram-friendly family route to the arduous "Queen" with 42.3 kilometres at 2,665 meters attitude. To wrap up the day's hiking in proper fashion, there's a victory ceremony in the evening with awesome live music
