On Friday, a new low-pressure system, moving from the North Sea towards Germany, is embedded in the prevailing northern flow. The associated frontal system will reach the Alpine region on Friday. Any remaining clear spells in the morning will quickly disappear, and precipitation from the north will set in during the afternoon. The snow line will be around 1100 meters above sea level. Overnight into Saturday, as well as on Saturday itself, precipitation will become heavier and more persistent. The snow line will drop to around 800 meters above sea level. Clear spells will be rare. By Sunday morning, even colder air will seep in, further lowering the snow line. However, the snowfall will largely diminish by then, and the weather will improve on Sunday. According to current forecasts, this improvement will continue into the beginning of next week. Expect a mostly friendly mix of sun and clouds. During the partly clear nights, very low freezing temperatures are expected.
