Culinary Paznaun is a summer gourmet series set in the Paznaun Valley in Tyrol – stretching from Galtür through Ischgl and Kappl to See. From July to October, renowned top chefs and the #YoungChefsPaznaun take over a total of nine mountain huts, creating exclusive dishes made from regional ingredients. Alpine tradition meets modern gourmet cuisine – right in the heart of Tyrol’s stunning mountain landscape.

At the centre of the experience are the hut festivals: on selected dates, each chef partners with a specific hut and presents a specially created summer dish. Every dish is developed exclusively for Culinary Paznaun, combining high-quality regional produce with creative culinary craftsmanship. Throughout the entire summer season, these dishes can then be enjoyed at the respective partner huts.

Culinary Paznaun
Alpine tradition meets modern cuisine, and refined Michelin-style dishes meet hearty lodge fare. Every summer, local gourmet chefs bring regional specialities to nine selected lodges and alpine pastures in Paznaun. The combination of top-level gastronomy and authentic alpine lodge flair creates exceptional summer highlights and moments of indulgence. Initiated by the Paznaun – Ischgl Tourism Association, the culinary event has been taking place for over ten years, offering unique mountain experiences paired with alpine enjoyment ever since.

The lodge festivals
Seven gourmet chefs and the #YoungChefsPaznaun once again take on the patronage of one lodge each this summer, creating a special dish using high-quality regional ingredients. These summer dishes are presented at the lodge festivals, hosted jointly by the lodge owners and their partner chefs. The dishes can then be enjoyed throughout the entire summer at the respective lodges.

Culinary Paznaun takes place from 3 July to 4 October 2026, with a lodge festival held each week. The dishes can be enjoyed throughout the entire summer at the respective lodges.

Visit the lodges of Culinary Paznaun and collect your lodge hiking badge – bronze from four, silver from seven and gold from nine lodges – along with a culinary reward: a “Culinary Paznaun” wine, a non-alcoholic alternative or a children’s gift. Rewards can be collected during opening hours at the information offices in Galtür, Ischgl, Kappl and See.

By successfully taking part, you will also automatically be entered into a prize draw: among all participants who have hiked to at least four lodges, a main prize will be raffled. This includes one overnight stay for two people as well as two tickets to the opening evening of Culinary Paznaun 2027 in Ischgl. The draw will take place at random after the end of the summer season on 30 October 2026, and the winners will be notified accordingly.

 

 

SUMMER OPENING – THE START OF THE GOURMET SUMMER

The Summer Opening in Ischgl marks the official start of Culinary Paznaun.

In front of the St. Nikolaus Cultural Centre, an open-air gourmet promenade comes to life – featuring culinary highlights, perfectly paired wines and live music.

The highlight: On this evening, all dishes from the lodge festivals of Culinary Paznaun are presented for the very first time. Guests can sample small tastings of every creation by the participating chefs.
