We are currently experiencing a strong high-pressure system over Central Europe. This is accompanied by pleasantly warm air, meaning that spring continues to show itself at its best. On Thursday, temperatures will remain largely unchanged, though harmless, high cloud fields will increasingly join the sunshine as the day progresses. At the same time, a strengthening north-westerly wind in the mountains heralds a cold front for Friday. This will cross our region in the morning, bringing some heavy showers and a significant drop in temperature. The snow line will temporarily drop below 1,500 metres above sea level. The sun may well make a comeback in the afternoon. A new high-pressure system will build over us just in time for the weekend, bringing very sunny conditions once again. Temperatures will recover quickly, though it is unlikely to get quite as warm as it has been recently.
