On 14 August 2021, Ischgl will be crowning its E-Bike World Champion. The world’s biggest e-biking race will start out in two categories, ‘Everyone’ and ‘Elite’. Bikers aged 10 years and older can take part in the open E-Bike World Cup for Everyone. E-bikes are available to hire on-site. Registration is open now.

Anyone can become the E-Bike World Champion in Ischgl in August 2021 – whether young or old, whether amateur or professional. How is that possible? From 13 to 14 August 2021, the E-Bike World Cup for Everyone will be taking place in Ischgl for the first time. The world’s biggest e-biking race will take place in two classifications along two different routes – ‘Elite’ and ‘Everyone’. The rules are simple: “In the ‘Elite’ category, the fastest biker is named the world champion whereas participants in the ‘Everyone’ category compete to break three time limits (Gold, Silver and Bronze). On breaking one of the three pre-defined time limits, e-bikers receive an official Everyone World Cup Gold, Silver or Bronze medal,” explains Dr. Markus Mitterdorfer (E-Bike Federation). Anyone breaking the Gold time limit is named a world champion. In addition to receiving the medal for the relevant ‘Everyone’ category or the achieved ranking in the overall ‘Elite’ category. The best in each age group are also recognised based on gender and race category. The 24 km route of the ‘Everyone’ category leads along wide trails characterised by dreamy panoramic views and an impressive mountain backdrop, covering 693m of elevation gain. Participants in the ‘Elite’ category give their all over a technically demanding 32 km trail with steep ascents and spectacular single trails, covering 1,025m of elevation gain. In terms of e-bikes: all standard e-mountain bikes (Pedelecs) are permitted to race with assisted pedalling of up to max. 25 km/h, motorisation of max. 250 Watt and battery power of max. 800 Watt. All participants are required to undergo a Bike Check before starting the race on the race day. Participants without their own e-bike can hire one on-site. Registration is open now. Good to know: Ischgl visitors, spectators and bikers can enjoy a lively supporting programme and the chance to try out e-bikes as part of the E-Bike World Cup.
