OPENING STATUS

OPEN FROM JUNE TO OCTOBER

The current status of the High Alpine Road is displayed here: www.silvretta-bielerhoehe.at

Important Information for Summer 2025:
Limited access possible: Due to a rockfall, construction and safety measures are still required on the Vorarlberg side.

  • Open only in dry weather & during daylight hours
  • Traffic controlled by a signal system: To ensure road safety, a geo-radar monitoring system is in operation. In case of potential danger, the system automatically controls traffic lights in the hazard zones, switching them to red when necessary.
  • No restrictions on the Tyrolean side: Access to the Bielerhöhe and up to the Vermunt reservoir from the Tyrolean side is expected to be possible from Whitsun onwards, without any restrictions.
  • No tolls in summer 2025 due to the disruptions.
